Roatan is an island situated in the Caribbean, known for its stunning coral reefs. Unfortunately, these beautiful ecosystems are under threat due to pollution, overfishing and climate change. In response, Roatan Marine Park (RMP) has launched a project to protect and restore these reefs in Honduras. The project aims to preserve the coral reefs of the Caribbean and ensure their sustainability for the future.
Under the banner of "Strengthening knowledge in coral restoration to preserve and restore coral ecosystems in the Caribbean of Honduras," RMP's project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE). This initiative seeks to enhance the survival and resilience of coral reefs through innovative restoration techniques and knowledge generation.
